SIMI VALLEY : Pedestrian Struck by 2 Vehicles Dies
A Simi Valley man died after he was struck by two cars while crossing a street, police said Saturday.
Danny Chamlee, 48, was pronounced dead at Simi Valley Hospital shortly after the accident, which occurred at about 7:15 p.m. Friday, authorities said.
According to police, Chamlee was crossing Alamo Street near El Paso Avenue when he was hit by the two westbound vehicles. Chamlee was not in a crosswalk and witnesses told police he did not appear to look for traffic before entering the street, authorities said.
The two drivers, who did not suffer any injuries, were not speeding at the time of the accident, police said.
Criminal charges were not being sought against either driver because a preliminary investigation indicated that Chamlee was at fault, police said. An investigation was continuing.
