Chevron Corp. Drops Plan to Sell Texas Refinery: The San Francisco-based company scuttled a plan to sell its Port Arthur refinery to Clark USA Inc. for $200 million after concluding that Clark would not be able to arrange financing. The death of the agreement puts in jeopardy the jobs of 1,200 workers at Chevron’s 180,000-barrel-a-day refinery in southeast Texas. Among the options Chevron may now consider is whether to close the facility, reduce its operations or find another buyer.
