A motorcycle passenger and a jogger were killed Sunday in separate traffic accidents here, police said.

The passenger on the motorcycle, Teresa Holtz, 31, of Huntington Beach, was killed at 2:17 p.m. when the motorcycle struck the rear of a car that was turning into a condominium complex in the 4100 block of Warner Avenue, said Sgt. Craig Bryant of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The motorcycle driver, Richard Windham, 35, of Costa Mesa, suffered internal injuries and was listed in serious condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange, Bryant said.

Both Holtz and Windham were thrown from the motorcycle, Bryant said, adding that the incident is under investigation.

In the other accident, an unidentified jogger who attempted to cross Pacific Coast Highway at Newland Street at 3:14 p.m. against a red light was hit by a car and killed, Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Terry Lindsey said.

Witnesses said the driver of the car was traveling through a green light at the legal speed. The driver was not cited, although the incident remains under investigation, Lindsey said.
