Micropolis Posts Profit in Fourth Ouarter
Micropolis Corp., a Chatsworth maker of computer disk drives and other data storage products, reported a $4.83 million fourth-quarter profit after a loss a year earlier of $5.96 million.
It attributed the improved results to new products, which boosted sales and profit margins.
Micropolis’ net sales in the quarter ended Dec. 30 were $107.6 million, a 19% increase from $90.4 million in net sales a year before.
For all of 1994, the company saw its losses grow to $30.7 million from a $19.9 million loss in 1993, while its net sales fell 10% to $346.3 million from $382.9 million.
