COVINA: A Pomona woman was the victim of a carjacking Friday. The woman, whose name was not released, picked up a man in Pomona who asked her to take him to a friend’s house in the 500 block of North Dover Street in Covina. Once there, the man produced a shotgun and ordered the woman out of her red 1986 Nissan Sentra. The license plate of the stolen car is 1PVL480.

EL MONTE: A 35-year-old doughnut shop owner was wounded Jan. 26 during an attempted robbery. Hong Goy, owner of the Baker’s Dozen doughnut shop in the 10000 block of Garvey Avenue, was found shot at 10:40 p.m., police said. He is listed in stable condition at Greater El Monte Community Hospital.

POMONA: Police arrested a Pomona man Jan. 26 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Luis Roman Salgado, 36, had eluded arrest since Jan. 13, when he allegedly tried to slash a bartender with a knife. He is being held in Pomona City Jail on $10,000 bail.

SAN GABRIEL: Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint from 7:30 p.m. Saturday until at least midnight after the Chinese New Year Parade. Police did not give the location of the checkpoint.
