Edwards, Humphries Swapped Again
BOSTON — The Boston Celtics traded small forward Blue Edwards to the Utah Jazz for guard Jay Humphries on Friday. Boston also received Philadelphia’s second-round choice in this year’s draft.
It is the second time Edwards and Humphries have been traded for each other. On June 24, 1992, Edwards, Eric Murdock and a 1992 first-round draft choice were traded by Utah to Milwaukee for Humphries and Larry Krystkowiak.
Edwards, in his sixth NBA season, is averaging 7.1 points and 16.4 minutes in 31 of Boston’s 43 games.
Humphries, who has been on the injured list since Jan. 18, has played in 12 games this season and is averaging 0.8 points and 12.4 minutes. The 11-year veteran missed training camp and the first 15 games while rehabilitating his right knee after surgery.
