3 Riverside Teens Jailed in Laguna Assault, Theft Case
LAGUNA BEACH — Three Riverside teen-agers were arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of assault, auto theft and burglary, police said.
Sgt. Ray Houser said 18-year-old Lamont Lincoln and two juveniles were picked up shortly after midnight on Cliff Drive after officers responded to a call regarding a fight. Jesus Gonzales, 36, of Santa Ana, suffered wounds to the face and head during the fight, but declined hospital treatment, Houser said. The three had Gonzales’ wallet when they were arrested, he added.
When officers arrested the three teens, they discovered that the car they were riding in had been stolen in Riverside two weeks ago. In the car, officers found checks and credit cards belonging to a Dana Point woman who had reported them stolen a few days earlier, as well as some new clothing that had apparently been purchased with the credit cards and checks.
Lamont was taken to the Orange County Jail and held in lieu of $50,000 bail. The minors were being held without bail at juvenile hall.
