Countywide : 3 Centers Offering Help With Tax Forms
Three community centers in the county have launched tax-preparation programs to help people file income-tax documents.
The Delhi Community Center in Santa Ana, the Santa Ana Senior Center and Fullerton’s Maple Senior Multi-Service Center are offering the service, which is provided by volunteers trained by the Internal Revenue Service.
Delhi is also providing free or low-cost assistance in preparing immigration and social service documentation as well. The services are available at the center, 524 E. Central Ave., until April 16, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A donation of $20 will be requested for the tax preparation.
The senior center at 424 W. 3rd St. will be offering the service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until April 13. You can make appointments by calling (714) 547-5671.. The income-tax clinic, sponsored by the American Assn. of Retired Persons, is designed for taxpayers of all ages.
The Maple Senior Multi-Service Center is offering free income-tax preparation services for those who cannot afford the service elsewhere. That center is at 701 S. Lemon St. Volunteers are helping prepare documents from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
Those seeking assistance should bring a copy of their last year’s tax return and all tax information--including Social Security statements and W-2, W-2P and 1099 forms--necessary to report 1994 income.
