Trader Joe’s Promotes Executives: The company announced a series of management changes as the specialty food store chain prepares for a nationwide expansion. John Shields, 62, president and chief executive, has assumed the title of chairman, a newly created position. Michael F. Parker, 49, former executive vice president, has become president and chief operating officer. Douglas Rauch, 43, formerly vice president of merchandising, has been appointed to the new position of president, eastern region. Company nutritionist and dietitian Carol Impara has been promoted to the new position of director of product information.
