JODIE FOSTER: If she wins her third best actress award, she’ll be second in the category only to Katharine Hepburn, who’s won four times.
WOODY ALLEN: His nomination for “Bullets Over Broadway” marks his 11th for original screenplay. Billy Wilder holds the record with 12.
JENNIFER TILLY: Sibling rivalry? She’s up for best supporting actress. Nine years ago, her sister Meg Tilly was nominated in the same category for “Agnes of God.”
Next: The Big Night
For many viewers, the No. 1 reason to watch this year’s show is David Letterman’s debut as master of ceremonies. It happens March 27 at the Shrine Auditorium. The telecast begins at 6 p.m. on ABC. Letterman’s own writers will help prepare material. Stupid Oscar Tricks, anyone?
