Partnership Formed: Cerplex Group Inc. has formed a partnership with a division of Philips Electronics North America to repair the company’s magnetic storage tape products and to supervise manufacturing contracts for it.
Under the seven-year agreement, Cerplex paid Philips an undisclosed amount in return for the business of handling repairs on some of its products, according to a spokeswoman for the Tustin-based company.
Cerplex provides a variety of repair services for computers and computer-related devices and distributes electronic components. It has similar repair agreements with other companies, including IBM, and with Western Digital Corp. and Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., both in Irvine.
