PASADENA : Girl Slain, 3 Boys Wounded at Valentine’s Day Party
A 15-year-old Monterey Park girl was shot to death and three teen-age boys were wounded when at least four armed youths crashed a Valentine’s Day party, police said.
The girl, whose name was not released, was shot in the chest about 2:30 p.m. in the 800 block of North Euclid Avenue, Lt. Alex Uribe said.
She died a short while later at Huntington Memorial Hospital. One boy was shot in the leg and two others were stabbed, possibly with a screwdriver, police said.
Detective Paul Gales said that 35 to 40 people--mostly Pasadena teen-agers--were at the party that was held outdoors and in a garage.
About 2:30 p.m., at least four uninvited guests showed up at the party and a fight ensued, Gales said. At least one of the suspects pulled a gun and began shooting at random, he said.
