SEASON AT A GLANCE: Aberle, a 5-foot-7 forward, leads the Warriors in scoring with 16 goals and six assists as the team prepares for Saturday’s first-round Southern Section Division I playoff match at Mater Dei. A co-captain for Westlake (17-2-2) who has played soccer for nine years, Aberle also plays club soccer for the Las Virgenes Blazers, and runs hurdles for the Westlake track team. “She’s a brilliant player,” Westlake Coach Tahn Hyun said. “It’s nice to have a forward who can read the game and go hard to the goal.”

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Aberle scored two goals and added an assist in the Warriors’ 6-1 victory over Agoura in the semifinals of the Marmonte League tournament. She scored a goal and had an assist in Westlake’s upset of Simi Valley in the championship match two days later.
