Baseball’s expansion committee talked about the possibility of adding two teams to one league instead of adding one team each to the American and National leagues.
No formal decisions were made during a conference call that lasted about one hour, and the committee will hold another conference call next week.

American Allen Johnson won a rarely run indoor 110 meters hurdles race in a world best time of 13.34 seconds at the Russian Winter competition track meet. Britain’s Colin Jackson still holds the outdoor 110 meter hurdles world record of 12.91 seconds.
Johnson beat the Briton over 60 meters indoors last week in Madrid. At the same Moscow meet, Russian Mikhail Shchennikov set world indoor five kilometers walk record of 18 minutes 7.08 seconds.
