Loyola 54, Newhall Hart 39--Dan Farmer scored 21 points to lead the Cubs to a first-round victory in the Southern Section Division I-A playoffs Tuesday at Valencia High.
The Indians trailed at halftime, 25-21, but the Cubs went on an 8-0 run early in the third quarter and never looked back.
“We couldn’t drop a shot,” Hart Coach Mike May said. “When we got down by 12, we extended our defense and they got some easy shots.”
