Community Hospice Care Purchased: A Florida provider of hospice services said Tuesday that it has purchased the assets of Community Hospice Care Inc. of Orange County, which operates programs from six locations in Southern California. Vitas Healthcare Corp. in Miami did not disclose the sale price, but a spokeswoman said that it will retain all of Community Hospice’s 800 employees and use the company’s main office in Anaheim as its regional administrative headquarters. Both companies provide medical care and counseling to patients and families coping with terminal illnesses, going to the patients’ homes or care facilities. Community Hospice serves 1,200 patients daily from the San Fernando Valley to San Diego. Vitas serves nearly 3,600 patients from 21 locations in Florida and in seven other states.
