Community Colleges Plan Job Fair
Recruiters from local employers are invited to take part in the third annual Orange County Community College Job Fair. The event takes place 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 29, at the Orange County Fair and Exposition Center in Costa Mesa.
The fair is sponsored by Coastline, Cypress, Golden West, Irvine Valley, Orange Coast and Saddleback community colleges.
“Our goal this year is to attract 85 employers and 4,000 participants,” said Steve Woodyard, director of Orange Coast College’s Job Placement Center. The fair drew 72 employers last year and more than 3,000 attendees.
Booth spaces for employers are $150 each. There is no admission charge.
Woodyard said the fair is not recruiting temporary agencies. “We want to attract actual employers to our fair,” he said.
For information and booth reservations, call (714) 432-5576.

OCC Group’s Fund Raising Hits Record
Orange Coast College Foundation has reported a record level of fund raising in 1994.
Nearly $3.7 million was raised in cash, non-cash and in-kind donations. This represents a 13% increase over 1993.
Largely fueling the increase was the gift of three yachts to the college’s sailing program. The yachts are valued at $1 million.
