HUNTINGTON BEACH : Beach Division Plans Tryouts for Lifeguards

If you’ve always wanted to be a lifeguard, your chance to try out is March 26 at the city’s beach division headquarters.
Applicants for the seasonal lifeguard jobs must be at least 17 years old by June 1, have 20/40 uncorrected vision and be in excellent health.
Tryouts, which will begin at 8 a.m. at the beach division headquarters at 103 Pacific Coast Highway, will include a 1,000-yard ocean swim and a combined 1,000-yard run and swim. Applicants must also pass a qualifying test.
Top qualifiers will be allowed to participate in an oral board screening process. Up to 30 qualifiers will participate in the Cadet Training Program, which takes place from April 8 to 14.
