ORANGE COUNTY IN BANKRUPTCY : BOND TICKER : Hearing in Santa Ana Today

State Treasurer Matt Fong will chair a hearing in Santa Ana today that will explore how the Orange County financial crisis might affect the municipal bond market.
A variety of financial experts and politicians are scheduled to attend the hearing, including State Controller Kathleen Connell, state Sen. Lucy Killea (I-San Diego), County Supervisor Marian Bergeson and Orange County Transportation Agency head Stan Oftelie.
Representatives from Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s Investors Service and Charles Schwab Investment Management are also expected to appear at the hearing, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the county Hall of Administration. This is Fong’s third hearing on the county bankruptcy.
