Jack Kemp Joins Software Firm’s Board: The former congressman and Cabinet secretary has become a director of Oracle Systems Corp., the company said. Kemp was considered a likely candidate for the 1996 Republican presidential nomination, until he said last month that he would not run, citing the nonstop need to raise money. “Jack has several years experience launching new and innovative programs and brings with him well established relationships in the public sector,” Oracle Chairman James A. Abrahamson said. Oracle, the leading database software supplier to large corporations, has $2 billion in annual revenue. Kemp, 59, was also a professional quarterback, leading the Buffalo Bills to the American Football League championship in 1964 and ’65.
