Bob Stinson, 35, founding guitarist with the Replacements. Stinson was ousted from the now-defunct Minneapolis-based rock band in 1986 because of drug and alcohol abuse. Last year he was diagnosed as suffering from a manic-depressive disorder and was taking medication to combat intense mood swings. Stinson made five recordings with the Replacements: “Sorry, Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash” in 1981, “The Replacements Stink” in 1982, “Hootenanny” in 1983, “Let It Be” in 1984 and “Tim” in 1985. Found dead Feb. 18 in Minneapolis; cause of death unknown.
