William Howard Coleman; Company Founder
William Howard Coleman, 77, founder of the Coleman-Patterson Co., which evolved into Intercole Inc. Relocating from the Midwest to Southern California in 1972, Coleman chaired Intercole until his retirement in 1986. He also became executive producer of Hollywood films, including the popular 1973 feature “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” and the 1991 movie “The Borrower.” Coleman founded his original company, which manufactured wire, in Cleveland in 1941. Born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, he attended Notre Dame University. He was president of the National Chapter of Young Presidents in 1952, and served on the boards of Notre Dame, Gilmour Academy, Loyola Marymount University and Franciscans Communications. On Feb. 20 in Laguna Hills.
