After almost two years as host of “Love & FaithWorks,” sitcom actor turned televangelist Bill Woodard will hand over the Ventura County Cablevision program to a Newbury Park businessman who credits Christianity for his victory over drugs and pornography.

Don Kelley, 52, the new host, said he and his wife Susan hope to use the show to “glorify God,” by inviting guests to give testimony about their Christian experiences. “We have no background in doing this,” Kelley said. “It’s just a door that God opened for us.”

Woodard said Thursday that he will continue to live in Thousand Oaks and to broadcast his “Window of Hope” program in Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. He dropped the “Love & FaithWorks” program, he said, in order to devote more time to expanding his ministry into Inglewood.

Woodard plans to host another show with a live audience in Inglewood’s Market Street Miracles Theater. The owner of the 500-seat space, which used to be a Pussycat Theater, has allowed Woodard to use it for his ministry, Woodard said.

“There’s a lot of drug activity and a lot of gang violence there,” Woodard said. “It’s kind of a depressed area spiritually.”

Woodard is seeking donations of television equipment for use in the theater.
