U.S. May Take Action Over Beef Rules: Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Robert Cassidy said the U.S. government will look at using new world trade rules to force South Korea to drop its non-tariff barriers to U.S. beef imports. South Korea uses sanitary rules governing the shelf life of imported meat to deny U.S. beef exporters access to its market in breach of commitments it made in the Uruguay Round of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, Cassidy said.
