HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : Gillies Perfectly Happy for Saugus
Jamie Gillies of Saugus pitched a perfect game and struck out 10 on Tuesday in a 19-0 nonleague victory over Glendale that was called after six innings at Glendale.
Gillies also hit two doubles, knocking in four runs for Saugus (5-3).
Jeanine Giordano added four hits for the Centurions.
Alemany 12, Quartz Hill 1--Senior Sophie Contreraz pitched a two-hitter and had nine strikeouts, and Tammy Alcantar hit two triples for the Indians in a nonleague victory at Quartz Hill.
Alemany (12-1), ranked No. 1 in The Times’ area poll, had 11 hits. Jamie Moore had two hits, scored twice and drove in three runs.
Crescenta Valley 5, Flintridge Prep 0--Hope Robertshaw hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning of a nonleague game at Flintridge Prep.
Thousand Oaks 6, Royal 1--Jessie Davenport pitched a one-hitter and struck out 12, and Megan Keesling added two hits and scored two runs for the Lancers (5-3-1, 2-1) in a Marmonte League game at Royal.
North Hollywood 13, Canoga Park 3--Christine Hauser had three hits and four RBIs in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Canoga Park.
Claudia Soto had two hits, three stolen bases and three runs for the Huskies (3-8, 1-1).
Sylmar 20, Van Nuys 7--Karina Avendano hit a two-run home run and Brooke Mora had a solo homer for the Spartans (5-4, 2-0) in a Valley Pac-8 victory at Sylmar.
Kristina Mendoza was five for six and stole six bases for Sylmar (5-4, 2-0).
Monroe 1, Poly 0--Lupe Brambila tripled and scored the only run on a fifth-inning single by Anna Marquez in a Valley Pac-8 game.
Kelley Hall (3-3) had eight strikeouts and walked four, allowing four hits, for Monroe (4-3).
Calabasas 9, Nordhoff 4--Kelly Sargent scored three runs for the Coyotes (4-2, 2-1) in a Frontier League victory at Nordhoff.
Village Christian 14, Marshall Fundamental 0--Aimee Diaz had three hits and drove in three runs, and Laura Robbins hit a grand slam for the Crusaders (6-3, 2-1) in a Alpha League game.
Moorpark 7, Malibu 2--Christina Gutierrez hit a grand slam in the fifth inning for the Musketeers (4-1, 3-0) in a Frontier League game.
Reseda 21, Grant 2--Kristy Rebbeck went five for five with four RBIs for the Regents (6-0, 2-0) in a Valley Pac-8 game at Grant.
Montclair Prep 3, Oak Park 0--Freshman Laura Power (3-0) pitched her first complete game for the Mounties (7-0).
Louisville 8, St. Bonaventure 6--Jennifer Glennie hit a home run for the Royals (2-3) in a nonleague victory at St. Bonaventure.
Simi Valley 7, Agoura 5--Julie Difatta’s 10th inning single scored Chrissy Gates with the go-ahead run for the Pioneers (4-3, 2-1) in the Marmonte League game at Agoura.
