InterCommunications Inc. Names Nancy Bartelt to PR Job

Nancy Bartelt has joined InterCommunications Inc., a Newport Beach marketing communications firm, as account supervisor, public relations. Bartelt was previously director of public relations with the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach.

* Ray Robidoux has been appointed vice president of sales for Simple Technology Inc., a Santa Ana manufacturer of computer products. He was formerly with AST Research Inc. for eight years, as director of national sales, director of channel development, and Western operations director. Before that, Robidoux was senior vice president of sales and marketing for Dayna Communications.

* Philip B. Branson, James M. Orphanides and John W. Long have joined the board of directors of First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana, the principal subsidiary of First American Financial Corp. Branson is president of First American Home Buyers Protection Corp. Orphanides is with First American Title Insurance Co. of New York, and Long is president of First American Real Estate Information Services Inc.

* Randall L. Zaharia has been named vice president and portfolio manager with the investment division of First American Trust Co., which also is a subsidiary of First American Financial Corp. in Santa Ana. Previously, he was a portfolio manager and investment analyst for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Zaharia also has been a senior administrative analyst with the Santa Monica treasurer’s office and an assistant vice president and portfolio manager with Western Asset Management Co. in Los Angeles.

* Paul La Plante has been appointed senior director of facilities and real estate for Ingram Micro Inc., a Santa Ana wholesale distributor of microcomputer products. He was with Calcomp for 20 years, most recently as vice president of administration.

* Harvey Garte and Richard Torre have formed Garte Torre Global Capital Markets in Irvine, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and corporate and international trade financing. Torre previously managed the factoring and financing operations of Heller Financial in Los Angeles and Dallas. Garte has been involved in middle-market sales and divestitures.

* Huba S. Nagy has joined the KTGY Group Inc., an Irvine architectural and land planning firm, as director of design. He was formerly a partner with RNM, an architectural and planning firm he co-founded in 1974.
