SIMI VALLEY : Restaurant to Donate to Oklahoma Victims

A Chinese restaurant in Simi Valley will donate every dollar it makes today to benefit the victims of last week’s bombing in Oklahoma City.

Danny Chow, owner of China Express, is anticipating as many as 1,000 customers will come by his little restaurant at 1101 Los Angeles Ave. in the Mountain Gate Plaza.

Chow, who has run the business for 12 years, said the images of people helping people in Oklahoma inspired him to do the same.

“You know, after the quake, people were helping us. I just want to do the same,” Chow said. “You don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Maybe I’ll be needing help.”

The local chapter of the American Red Cross and officials from Supervisor Judy Mikels office will be on hand to retrieve the money for the bombing victims.

The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. and will stay open until 10 p.m.
