SBA Offices to Close in Santa Ana, Ventura, Fresno: The offices are among the three dozen Small Business Administration sites that will be close nationwide as part of the Clinton Administration’s previously announced plans to reduce the size and cost of the Federal government. The SBA offices could be closed as early as this summer. SBA officials said the closures are not expected to have any big effect on its loan guarantee program. As part of its streamlining plan, the SBA also is drafting legislation to send to Congress that will eliminate the agency’s yearly subsidy by raising fees to borrowers and lenders.
