Fidelity National Financial Inc: The Irvine title insurance underwriter has acquired the common stock of the Butte County Title Co. title agency. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. Butte County Title will operate as a subsidiary and complete Fidelity’s coverage of the four-county market encompassing Sutter, Yuba, Plumas and Butte counties. Joseph A. Benatar, president of Fidelity’s Sutter, Yuba and Plumas Division, will serve as president of Butte County Title. Butte County Title’s former president, Donald Baldwin, will serve as president emeritus. Fidelity is one of the largest national underwriters, conducting title-related business in 49 states.
