ROLLING HILLS ESTATES : Vintage Cars on View at Concours d’Elegance

For some, a car is nothing more than a way to get from point A to point B. For others, a car is a work of art.

This weekend, a pair of Palos Verdes Peninsula organizations will use the car as a fund-raiser.

On display at the third annual Concours d’Elegance, sponsored by the Palos Verdes Art Center and the local Rotary Club, will be an exhibition of autos that range from a 1909 Ford, which owners say is the oldest restored Model T in the world, to vintage Thunderbirds.

More than 150 cars are expected to compete for awards between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday on the playing fields at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School.

Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children 5 to 12. Children under 5 are free.

Proceeds will benefit educational programs sponsored by the art center and Rotary Club.
