Times Mirror Picks Oglesby as Editor of Allentown Paper

Roger Oglesby has been named editor and vice president of the Morning Call, the Times Mirror Co. newspaper in Allentown, Pa.

Oglesby, 46, was president and chief executive of California Community News, a Times Mirror subsidiary that publishes daily and weekly community newspapers in Los Angeles and Orange counties. In addition, he was assistant to Los Angeles Times Publisher and Chief Executive Richard T. Schlosberg III.

Jeffrey S. Klein, a vice president of the Los Angeles Times and president of the newspaper’s daily Valley and Ventura County editions, will assume the additional title of president and chief executive of California Community News. Klein, 42, will also oversee The Times’ communications, community affairs and special events departments, which previously reported to Oglesby.

CCN publishes the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa Daily Pilot, the Huntington Beach Independent and the Saddleback Valley Voice in Orange County. It also publishes the Glendale News-Press, the Burbank Leader and the Foothill Leader in Los Angeles County.

* Andrew S. Bielanski, 44, was appointed to the new position of managing director-marketing for Pasadena-based Countrywide Funding Corp. Bielanski previously was a managing director at Lord, Dentsu & Partners, Countrywide’s advertising agency.
