Don Brockett; Chef Brockett on ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’

Don Brockett, 65, the raspy-voiced actor who had played Chef Brockett on “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” since the program’s 1968 premiere. Brockett had also appeared in 34 feature films, including “Flashdance” and “The Silence of the Lambs” and performed in several off-Broadway shows. The multifaceted actor also composed music that was performed by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and headed his own company, Don Brockett Productions. Brockett taped his last appearance on the Pittsburgh-based “Mister Rogers” children’s show in March. On Tuesday in Pittsburgh, apparently of a heart attack.
