‘Creep’ Zooms

Through relentless touring, White Zombie has built a solid audience for its wild ‘n’ woolly alternative hard-rock. Not only is “Astro Creep: 2000” No. 2 on The Times’ Southern California hard rock chart but it’s also No. 1 nationally. This is the most popular new rock album to come along in the last month or so. When the group starts touring soon, that should boost sales even more. The “Friday” soundtrack, boasting Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, is still the country’s big-selling album, topping four charts--both Southern California and national pop charts as well as both Southern California and national R&B; charts.
