Chapman University has received $1 million from Richard and Hyla Bertea of Corona del Mar to establish an endowed faculty position in the music department. William Hall, dean of the School of Music and director of the Master Chorale of Orange County, has been named the first holder of the new Bertea Family Chair position.

Three local arts officials will speak about the Orange County arts scene at the Orange County Forum Luncheon on Wednesday at noon at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, 17900 Jamboree Blvd., Irvine. The speakers are Tom Tomlinson, president of the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Peter C. Keller, executive director of the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art, and Bonnie Brittain Hall, executive director of Arts Orange County. Tickets, $35 each, will be available at the door.
