* Re “Nevada Range War Pits U.S., Nye County,” April 5:

I specifically pointed out [to your reporter] that testimony of Forest Service personnel showed that my range was in excellent condition and action was taken against me to advance the political agenda of the National Wildlife Federation. Your article only reports the Forest Service lie, that my range was “seriously overgrazed.”

The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the ruling about “illegal brush clearing,” which the Forest Service had obtained from the lower court through blatant perjury. The fact is, all the brush involved was on land owned by Pine Creek Ranch through a permanent grant from Congress dating from 1878.

Your writer then repeated another Forest Service lie, that I threatened federal employees. When these federal employees were asked under oath if I or any of my employees had ever threatened them, they unequivocally answered no.
