HUNTINGTON BEACH : Junior Lifeguard Tryouts Announced
Tryouts for this summer’s Huntington State Beach Junior Lifeguard program will be Saturday at Edison High School.
Candidates must swim 100 yards in two minutes or less, tread water for five minutes and swim underwater for 10 yards.
The tryouts will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the school, 21400 Magnolia St. Other tryouts will be May 27, June 10 and June 17.
The July 6-Aug. 17 program will provide quality water safety education to youngsters. It is designed to improve the youths’ physical conditioning, their understanding and respect for the environment as well as themselves, parents and peers.
The program will cost $290.
