Day Runner Inc.: The Fullerton manufacturer of personal organizers has appointed James E. Freeman Jr., 48, to the newly created position of president. Freeman joined the company in 1993 as chief operating officer. He will continue to be responsible for Day Runner’s sales, marketing, product development, manufacturing operations, distribution and customer service, consumer affairs and international subsidiaries. Before joining the company, he was with New Product Insights, an Overland Park, Kan., marketing consulting firm. Before that, Freeman was president and chief operating officer of Stuart Hall Company Inc., an office and school products supplier.
