Clinton to Attend June 27 Session on West Coast Economic Problems
WASHINGTON — President Clinton will spend a day this month publicly analyzing the West Coast’s economic problems with prominent figures from industry, show business, government and nonprofit organizations.
In the second of a series of regional economic conferences, Clinton will appear June 27 at Portland State University with a guest list that includes Creative Artists Agency Chairman Michael S. Ovitz; SKG DreamWorks co-founder David Geffen; Rockwell International Corp. Chairman Donald Beal; Boeing Corp. Chairman Frank Schrontz and GM Hughes Electronics Chairman C. Michael Armstrong. Other guests are Bank of America Chairman Richard Rosenberg; retired Intel Corp. Chairman Gordon Moore; Genentech Chairman Kirk Raab; Southern California Edison Chairman John Bryson; Los Angeles Urban League President John W. Mack; and Brenda Shockley, president of the Community Build nonprofit agency in South Central Los Angeles.
The full-day session is to focus on how to improve the functioning of the economy for working families. Clinton hosted a regional economic conference in Atlanta on March 29, and other regional sessions are planned.
