Proposed Community Doesn’t Fit In
* As a concerned Orange County citizen and property owner in Laguna Niguel, let me get this straight. Mayor Mark Goodman and Tom Wilson want to approve the Binion development, which clearly violates the local development laws, chop off the last mountain, gamble on flooding out the houses of neighbors in Laguna Beach and Three Arch Bay, destroy a plant community that exists in only five places in the world and erase our nature trail system. Can’t they see the Binion development for what it is--a greedy, exploitative and unjustified attack on the city’s laws and neighbors in Laguna Beach?

* We are appalled by the actions of Mayor Goodman and Tom Wilson, who seem eager to put another gated community smack-dab in the middle of a city park. Do we really need a guarded development community in Badlands Park, our last undeveloped park? For once, let’s protect our natural resources for all the public instead of creating a private back yard for a chosen few.
