O.C. Woman Named to Parole Authority
Jo Ellen Allen of Corona del Mar has been appointed to the parole authority for convicted felons committed to drug rehabilitation.
Gov. Pete Wilson on Friday announced Allen’s appointment to the Narcotic Addict Evaluation Authority, a post that pays $33,546 a year.
Allen, 48, is a Republican and president of Eagle Forum of California, a nonprofit public policy organization that espouses free enterprise, traditional family values, strong national defense and the principles of limited government.
Allen has served since 1994 as a member of the board of governors of the State Bar of California. In the past, she also worked as a part-time instructor of political science and comparative law at USC and between 1971 and 1987 was an associate professor of political science in the Los Angeles Community College District.
