PICO-UNION : Cleanup Planned at Alvarado Terrace
A community cleanup will take place Saturday at Alvarado Terrace Park, organized by members of the federally funded AmeriCorps volunteer program.
Residents who participate in the cleanup also are invited to help paint a mural at nearby Angelica Lutheran Church.
The park cleanup and mural painting will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon. From 1 to 4 p.m., the AmeriCorps members, who have been assisting community improvement efforts in Pico-Union and other parts of the inner city since last year, will hold an information fair on ways residents can hook up with city offices, neighborhood groups and other community improvement resources in the area.
Alvarado Terrace Park is on Alvarado Terrace between Pico Boulevard and 14th Street. Angelica Lutheran Church is at 1345 S. Burlington Ave.
