Buttafuoco Fined After Pleading No Contest to Solicitation
Joey Buttafuoco, the Long Island man convicted of statutory rape for his affair with Amy Fisher, pleaded no contest Friday in Los Angeles Municipal Court to soliciting prostitution and was fined and ordered to take an HIV test.
Buttafuoco was ordered to pay $1,715 in fines and fees, undergo testing for the AIDS virus and complete an AIDS education class. He was also placed on two years probation.
Supervising City Atty. William Sterling sought a jail term of 15 days. But Judge Michael Mink said he would leave the issue of jail time up to New York state officials, who could send Buttafuoco back to prison if they determine he violated his probation.
Buttafuoco was arrested May 24. Vice officers said he solicited sex from an undercover officer near Sunset Boulevard and Ogden Drive.
He was in town to film 10 episodes of the new Fox game show “Liars.”
Buttafuoco, a body shop owner, served a six-month sentence in New York for statutory rape of Fisher, who was 16 when their affair began.
