Award-Winning Radio: The producer of syndicated travel information for radio has been recognized for its work.
On Travel Radio of San Juan Capistrano won a gold medal in the Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition recently for an hourlong feature called “Traveling to D-day.”
The broadcast, produced for the British Tourist Authority, commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe during World War II. The citation that accompanied the award said, “On Travel’s compelling radio presentation makes the listener feel as if he/she is in England listening in on conversations about D-day.”
The award was sponsored by the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation and judged by Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
