MTA Created Confusion With Bus Route Changes
* What is disappointing about Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s recent restructuring of the bus system is that it failed to communicate the effect of the changes on riders. Schedules for many of the new or changed bus lines are still not available.
I have seen confused looks on people’s faces as they waited for buses that never came or were surprised when the bus took a turn it had never taken before. I have seen mothers with small children waiting an hour or more for a bus. I have seen desperate commuters flagging down every bus that passes and questioning every bus driver.
I pray that the MTA gets its act together. I would think the billions of dollars of public funds (mostly local) that it’s in charge of would be a mandate to ensure that the public’s welfare is its foremost consideration.
