Manuel Foyil; Retired Gardener, Landscaper
Longtime Ojai resident Manuel Foyil died Friday at a Ventura hospital. He was 73.
A retired gardener and landscaper, Foyil lived in Ojai for 50 years after coming from his hometown of Spiro, Okla., where he was born on Jan. 3, 1922.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughters Sheila Carlton of Ojai and Linda Reyes of Santa Paula; sons Gene Foyil of Edmond, Okla., and Steve Foyil of Santa Paula; stepson Jim Carriger of Ventura and stepdaughter Roberta Nicholas of Banning.
He is also survived by two brothers, three sisters, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Funeral Home.
