It is the sport of Nadia and Olga and Mary Lou. It’s when little girls move with the grace of women but tumble with the abandon of youth. At the Santa Monica Gymnastics Center, owned by Linda and Alfred Luber, children--and adults--stretch themselves in the particular way gymnasts learn to do. And, often, with that extension of body, comes an expansion of spirit. For once the body knows sublime form, won’t the mind reject any boundaries?
