On Assignment Posts $1.06-Million Net Income
On Assignment Inc., a Calabasas-based temporary employment agency, reported record profits and revenue for the second quarter and six-month period that ended June 30.
The company posted quarterly earnings of $1.06 million, up 27% from net income of $834,000 in the same three-month period a year earlier. Revenue climbed to $15.5 million, up 26% from $12.3 million in the second quarter of 1994.
For its six-month period, On Assignment reported earnings of $1.95 million on sales of $29.5 million, compared to year-earlier profit of $1.48 million on sales of $22.7 million.
H. Tom Buelter, chief executive of On Assignment, attributed the improved results partly to expansion of the company’s lab support division, which provides temporary employees with science training to high-tech companies.
