Disneyland Resort Gets Financial Officer
* Byron Pollitt has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. In his new position, he will be responsible for all finance functions, business planning and development and information services, and assumes a larger role in planning for the Disneyland Resort expansion. Pollitt joined the Walt Disney Co. in 1990 as director of planning and analysis and was later named vice president of corporate operations planning. He joined Disneyland as vice president, business planning in 1992 and was appointed chief financial officer in 1994.
* Brad Bowlus has been named president of PacifiCare Health Systems Inc.’s dental health plan subsidiary, California Dental Health Plan in Tustin. Bowlus was previously vice president of sales and service for PacifiCare of California’s Southern region, responsible for marketing the company’s health care products and services to small and mid-size commercial employer groups. Before joining PacifiCare, he was with a regional director of sales and service and director of dental programs for WellPoint Health Networks Inc., the managed care subsidiary of Blue Cross of California.
* Edward J. Hall has joined Cruttenden Roth, an Irvine investment bank and brokerage, as chief financial officer. He was formerly executive vice president and chief financial officer of Angeles Corp. Hall has also been partner in charge of Big 6 accounting firm Deloitte & Touche’s Southern California Securities Industry Group and a member of its National Securities Industry Group.
* David A. Thompson has been appointed to the board of directors of Hycor Biomedical Inc., an Irvine medical diagnostic products company, expanding the number of members to eight. Thompson retired from Abbott Laboratories in June after 30 years. He had been senior vice president of diagnostic operations at Abbott Laboratories and president of Abbott Diagnostics.
Robert Jackson has been selected chairman of the Sterling Award Council, a nonprofit organization that recognizes quality and productivity in Orange County. Jackson is director of quality and technical services for Beckman Instruments Inc. in Fullerton.
* Michelle Sumi has been named director of graphic services for the Costa Mesa advertising agency of Bozell/Salvati Montgomery Sakoda. She joined the agency in 1985 as studio manager.
