Buena Park Man Shot 3 Times by Father, Police Say
BUENA PARK — A 31-year-old man was shot three times by his wheelchair-bound father Friday after the two had been drinking and arguing in their home, police said.
Brian Murphy Jr., 31, and his father, Brian Murphy Sr., 55, were sitting in their home in the 7600 block of El Diablo Circle drinking around 7 p.m. when they began arguing, Police Lt. James Schoales said.
The father, who is a double amputee and is confined to a wheelchair, suddenly pulled out his .357-magnum revolver and began firing at his son, Schoales said.
The son was shot in the neck, chest and buttock. He was airlifted to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was in critical condition Friday night.
The father was booked on suspicion of attempted murder at the Buena Park Police Department and held on $250,000 bail, Schoales said.
