RAP ROAR: Sen. Bob Dole is not the only one taking potshots at Snoop Doggy Dogg, Dr. Dre and the rest of the Death Row Records family. Young rapper RBX--who was a writer and vocalist on both Dre’s “The Chronic” album and Snoop’s “DOGGYSTYLE”--is launching attacks on the company in his upcoming album, due in late September. Its title: “Escape from Death Row.”

On the song “A.W.O.L.,” RBX ridicules Dre in a manner reminiscent of the way Dre and Snoop had slammed Eazy-E and his then-manager Jerry Heller in their “Dre Day.”

“Dr. Dre, do you remember you were broke / And the whole rap industry thought you were a joke / Me, the DOC and DOG sat and made lyrics to replenish your name like Gatorade,” he raps. RBX’s publicist, Phyllis Pollack, says that the dispute originated over payments for his work on the Dre and Snoop albums. Death Row spokesman George Price says the company has no comment.
